Meta ads work differently from search ads. Nobody opens Facebook looking for a roofer or an injury lawyer. You are interrupting someone’s scroll, so the ad has to earn attention, look like it belongs here, and make the next step easy.

Paid ads vs. organic social: two different jobs

Organic social is the posting you do on your own page: job photos, team updates, tips, the steady content that keeps you familiar to people who already follow you. We handle that through our social media marketing in Lafayette.

Paid ads are a separate tool. You pay Meta to put a specific message in front of specific people in a specific area, whether or not they follow you. Organic builds trust over time; paid gets a message out this week. Many businesses do best with both, managed and measured separately. What makes Meta ads work for local service businesses

01

Lead forms vs. landing pages

Meta’s instant forms let people request a quote without leaving the app, which usually means more leads that cost less, and often fewer serious ones. A landing page asks for more effort and tends to bring in people who mean it. We pick based on your sales process.

02

Tight local targeting

For most local businesses we target a radius around your service area or a set of ZIP codes, so you are not paying to reach people in Shreveport when you only work in Lafayette, St. Martin, and Iberia parishes.

03

Creative that looks local

Stock photos read as ads, and people scroll past them. Real photos of your crew, your trucks, or a short phone video of you explaining something tend to do better, because people recognize the place.

04

Accurate tracking

We set up the Meta Pixel on your site and, where possible, the Conversions API, which sends events from your server instead of relying only on the browser. That gives Meta cleaner data to optimize against when browsers and phones block tracking.

05

Weekly creative refresh

Local audiences are small, so the same people see your ad repeatedly. We watch frequency and swap in new images, video, and copy before an ad wears out.

Done the right way

Special Ad Categories: the rules some businesses must follow

Meta requires certain advertisers to run under a Special Ad Category, and it changes what targeting is allowed. The current categories are housing, employment, financial products and services, and social issues, elections, or politics. In early 2025, Meta folded the old credit category into the broader financial products and services category, which now covers credit and loans along with insurance, bank accounts, investment services, and payment services.

If your ads fall into housing, employment, or financial products and services, Meta limits the targeting:

01

No age or gender narrowing

Ads have to be open to all genders and generally to adults of all ages.

02

No ZIP code targeting

You target by city, address, or pin with a radius of at least 15 miles in the US.

03

No lookalike audiences,

and many detailed targeting options are unavailable or restricted.

That matters a lot in Acadiana, where many of our clients are insurance agencies, lenders, real estate businesses, or companies hiring. Running these campaigns without the right category can get ads rejected or an account restricted. We set it up correctly and let the creative do more of the work.

How we work

How we work

01

Audit first

We review your ad account, pixel setup, and what competitors run in the Meta Ad Library.

02

Build the foundation

Pixel, Conversions API where possible, conversion events, and a place for leads to land, whether that’s a form or a page on a website built to convert.

03

Launch small and learn

We start with a few audiences and a few creatives, then put more behind what is working.

04

Follow up fast

A Facebook lead goes cold quickly. We can connect your forms to automated follow-up so every lead gets a text or email within minutes.

05

Report monthly in plain English

Spend, leads, cost per lead, and what we are changing next.

Meta ads can produce leads faster than SEO, but nobody controls the auction, and results swing with season, competition, and creative. When someone is actively searching for your service, Google Ads is often the better first dollar, and we’ll say so if that’s the case for you.

FAQ

Facebook ads in Lafayette: frequently asked questions

Are Facebook ads worth it for a local service business in Lafayette?

They can be, especially for services people will act on when reminded, like home improvements, wellness services, or insurance reviews. For urgent needs where people search first, Google is often the stronger starting point.

Should I use Meta lead forms or send people to my website?

Lead forms usually bring in more leads with less friction, but more of them are casual. Landing pages bring fewer, more serious leads. We decide based on how your team follows up and how much each lead is worth, and we test both when the budget allows.

Do Special Ad Categories apply to my business?

If you advertise housing, job openings, or financial products and services such as loans, credit, insurance, banking, or investments, you are required to use a Special Ad Category. That removes age, gender, and ZIP code targeting and requires at least a 15-mile radius. We review this during setup so your campaigns run under the right rules.

How often do you change the ads?

We review performance weekly and refresh creative when an ad starts wearing out, which happens faster in small local audiences.

How much should I spend on Facebook ads?

It depends on your market, your service area, and what a new customer is worth to you. We recommend an ad budget after the free audit, once we understand your goals and competition.
